Terpinolene is the rarest of the major terpenes, leading barely one cultivar in ten, and the lines it does lead are famous for one thing: lift. It is the closest the plant comes to a sparkling wine.
The signature
Terpinolene refuses a single note. It reads as pine and citrus and fresh herb and something almost floral at once, with a bright solvent like edge that older growers called sharp. Apples, tea tree, and nutmeg all carry it. In cannabis it defines a small, distinct dynasty descended from the Haze line, told in the cultivar families file.
What it signals
Ask a room of longtime smokers to name the most energetic cultivars they know and most of the answers will be terpinolene dominant. The research record is thinner than the folklore here, so the house claim is simply the pattern: these releases read fast, talkative, and bright, and they anchor the energized profile in the effect index. If your tolerance is low or racing thoughts find you easily, begin gently.
Reading it on the certificate
Because it is rare, terpinolene anywhere in the top three of a table is a signal in itself. At 0.5% and above it will define the entire experience regardless of what else is present. There is no mistaking a terpinolene cultivar for anything else once you have met one.
Collector's note: terpinolene dominant releases are scarce because the lines are lanky, slow, and commercially inconvenient to grow. When one opens here, it will not stay open long.
Watch the collection and the archive for terpinolene releases, and read the pinene file for the other clear air profile.
